Privacy Policy

General privacy policy

By using our website, you agree to the collection, processing and use of data as described below. Our website can generally be visited without registration. Data such as pages accessed or the name of the file accessed, date and time are stored on the server for statistical purposes without this data being directly related to your person. Personal data, in particular name, address or e-mail address, are collected on a voluntary basis as far as possible. No data will be passed on to third parties without your consent.

The protection of your privacy is important to us. We therefore urge you to read the following summary of how our website www.gefahrstoff.com works carefully.

The privacy policy listed here complies with the guidelines of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz – BDSG). It is intended to provide information about the nature, purpose and use of personal data by the website operator epos Software & Service AG.

Although our site is equipped with various security measures, no complete protection of your data can be guaranteed, as security gaps on the internet cannot be excluded. Should you have any concerns regarding the collection of your data, you will find the corresponding contact details of our contact persons at the end of the text.

Personal data

The function and communication of our service depends on the data of our users. In this context, personal data is particularly sensitive – this refers to all information that can be clearly traced back to a specific, natural person. According to the GDPR, we are obliged to list the entire scope of all such data.

By using our site, the following personal data is collected according to GDPR:

First name and surname
Company
E-mail address
Telephone number
IP address (if possible, this will be transmitted or stored anonymously).

This data is collected when you use the following functions:

Contact form
We assure you that this data is used exclusively for the functioning, statistical evaluation and improvement of our service. According to applicable regulations, this data is only collected for the time you use our service. The legally applicable deletion regulations are complied with.

Data transfer to third parties
As a matter of principle, we do not pass on your data to third parties. We also take appropriate measures and carry out regular checks to ensure that the data we collect cannot be viewed or accessed by third parties from outside.

For the purpose of sending e-mails, we transmit your data to the following third parties:

CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede, Germany.

We assure you that the data passed on in this way complies with the legal requirements and that data is only sent to these third parties.

The e-mail addresses of our e-mail recipients, as well as their other data described in this notice, are stored on CleverReach’s servers. CleverReach uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, according to its own information, CleverReach may use this data to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. for the technical optimisation of the dispatch and presentation of the newsletters or for economic purposes in order to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, CleverReach does not use the data of our recipients to write to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.

Furthermore, we have concluded a contract with CleverReach for the processing of personal data. This is a contract in which CleverReach undertakes to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with its privacy policy and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view CleverReach’s privacy policy here.

Statistical collection and analyses
The e-mails contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the CleverReach server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour based on their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times.

The statistical surveys also include determining whether the e-mails are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of CleverReach to observe individual users. The analyses serve us much more to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Online call and data management
There are instances where we direct recipients to CleverReach’s websites. For example, our e-mails contain a link with which recipients can call up the newsletters online. Furthermore, recipients can subsequently correct their data, such as their email address. Likewise, CleverReach’s privacy policy is only available on their site.

In this context, we pointed out that cookies are used on the websites of CleverReach and that personal data is thus processed by CleverReach, its partners and service providers used (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. For further information, please refer to the CleverReach privacy policy. We would also like to point out that you have the option to object to the collection of data for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European region).

Privacy policy for cookies
Our website uses cookies. A cookie is a text file that is created when a website is visited and is temporarily stored on the website user’s system. If the server of our website is called up again by the user of the website, the browser of the user of the website sends the previously received cookie back to the server. The server can evaluate the information obtained through this process. Cookies can be used, for example, to control advertising or to make it easier to navigate a website. Cookies are also necessary to enable the functionality of our website operation (Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR is mentioned as the legal basis, the protection of the legitimate interests of the operator of this website – we only use cookies in agreement with Art. 5 para. 1 lit a GDPR, i.e. in accordance with the principles of “lawfulness, processing in good faith, transparency”).

Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords client’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the client can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. This website also uses Google Conversion Tracking. Google Adwords sets a cookie on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords customer’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognise that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Each Adwords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be tracked across Adwords customers’ websites. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking.

The Adwords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking procedure, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie required for this – for example, via a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com” are blocked. Google’s privacy policy on conversion tracking can be found at https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.
