History & Prospects

Quality & continuity – and a few words about the origins of the company

At the end of the 1980s, you may still have created your safety data sheets manually; automatic, computer-aided creation was left to large corporations.

Rudolf Sch├Ąfer, previously head of the working group “Occupational safety and environmental protection” (nuclear technology division) of NIS Ingenieurgesellschaft GmbH – a subsidiary of the large RWE group – founded PES-Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH in 1996. Since 2019, we have been registered in the commercial register as epos Software & Service AG. epos is a completely new development based on the experience in the development and use of the products GIS (Hazardous Substance Information System on DOS basis) and the BAUM system (Operational Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection Management System on Windows basis).

The immediate implementation of legal regulations as well as our own demand for high-quality software have led to rapid developments. In order to meet the wishes of our customers and these requirements, we continuously invest in the expansion of functionality – but also to a large extent in the expansion of our staff.
